often HTML tables meant for regular monitors become hard to
keep one's place reading when viewed on small handheld devices.

The table often is a nuisance, and when I think of the element
TAB, with its fixed indent, it seems no better in adjusting
itself to a narrow page. Is there a means of TABbing
relativ to the page-width, in, say, 72nds (in the typsetting
tradition) or decimal fractions? It would be good. (it
would be yet better if other brousers, too, supported TAB.)
