I saw exactly same problems (ssh and mail alert) during weekend tests which were part of 'size' stuff implementing. I used friday's codebase.


^(1) Actually in the zervlet code I use from 5 to 15 seconds for
read/wait, and 1 second in socket.c:socket_read should be increased to
5 seconds. I'll fix it.

In this case we might consider adding a variable timeout like,

IF FAILED host www.sol.no port 80 protocol http
WITH TIMEOUT 15 SECONDS THEN [ALERT | STOP | RESTART | EXEC]

I'm +1 for it. It will be very usefull to allow socket timeout configuration..
