Is it a shell pattern or a regular expression?

It's a glob (shell pattern), as I understand it.
The NEWS file suggests it would be a shell pattern, but the
--help output says ... well, both:
 |   pull [ADDRESS[:PORTNUMBER] [PATTERN]]
 |     pull branches matching REGEX from netsync server at ADDRESS

I think that goes under the expression "oops" :-).
