I wasn't sure (did not test) if a commit on a renamed directory with
changes within that directory would only commit that directory
rename. But anyway: changes on a directory structure are so special for most
developers (and cause plenty of pain anyway) that I found it wise not
to print this in a list that is run in a more or less automated way.

nope, "status --brief" is not xargs compatible. Right now I use a perl
script to parse that output and change it in a xargs conform way.
