The problem is that we really don't have anything to go on...
apparently mtn is just freezing, which makes no sense, and no-one else
has reported.  Does anyone actually have access to an s390, hppa,
sparc, mips, or mipsel box running debian that someone could use to
try and reproduce the problem and see what's going on?

Yeah this is strange. Shaun, does Debian have any sparc/other arch boxes that you have access to as a DD that you can test this on?
