One thought I've had along these lines is that perhaps "mtn detach" (aka rm -rf _MTN) and "mtn attach" (aka mtn checkout --no-files -r... -b...) might occasionally be useful. With this, export would be equivalent to checkout + detach.
Obviously this is pretty minor it's just something that has crossed my mind. Cheers, Derek
