BTW this does work perfectly using the new Cygwin-1.7 package I'm
preparing! (compiles OOTB, no patch needed; tell me if you'd like a
pre-compiled package)

% mtn add *.txt
mtn: aggiungo ‘p.txt’ al manifesto dello spazio di lavoro
mtn: aggiungo ‘però costa ben 3€ per 私.txt’ al manifesto dello spazio
di lavoro
% mtn ci
% mtn co tmp2
% cd tmp2
% ll
totale 2
drwxr-xr-x  1 lapo None  0 16 Apr 10:34 .
drwx------+ 1 lapo None  0 16 Apr 10:34 ..
drwxr-xr-x  1 lapo None  0 16 Apr 10:34 _MTN
-rwxr-xr-x  1 lapo None 37 16 Apr 10:34 p.txt
-rwxr-xr-x  1 lapo None 37 16 Apr 10:34 però costa ben 3€ per 私.txt

(this example doesn't show it, but it *also* works using recursive-add,
not only with filenames specified on the command line)
