I think this is new in 0.48:
$ mtn ci readme.txt doc/log.txt configure.py -m "Tick to 1.9.9-dev"
mtn: warning: including missing parent ''
mtn: warning: including missing parent 'doc'
[...]
Kind of obnoxious; I can understand if there was a change in the
directory, or if the directory wasn't checked in, but that wasn't the
case here.
$ mtn version --full
