[Monotone-devel] BUG: monotone fails to pull, check, commit, etc.

I've been using the pidgin monotone repository without issue for years,
but a few days ago absolutely everything stopped working. I didn't kill
any monotone process myself, and these errors happen across multiple
monotone database files, so I assume that it's not an accidental
database corruption, but an error in monotone itself. Anyway, fix if you
can. I haven't a clue why it's going wrong.

To replicate:

$ mtn --db=pidgin.mtn pull
mtn: fatal: error: null result in query: SELECT domain, name, value FROM
db_vars
mtn: this is almost certainly a bug in monotone.
mtn: please send this error message, the output of 'mtn version --full',
mtn: and a description of what you were doing to address@hidden
mtn: This error appears to have been triggered by something in the
mtn: database you were using, so please preserve it in case it can
mtn: help in finding the bug.
mtn: wrote debugging log to /home/cy/.monotone/dump
