Follow-up Comment #10, bug #55667 (project octave): Mike: I don't want to remove this functionality. Right now, I'm just trying to understand whether Octave's current behavior causes compatibility issues. Am I remembering correctly that Matlab does not allow a function foo that returns a struct to be indexed as foo.bar ? In any case, what does Matlab do if you have a function foo and ask which foo.bar And what does it do if you have a function bar.m in a package directory named +foo and you ask which foo.bar.baz ?
