Well tell me if you can reproduce the problem.  I think I may have
noticed something odd about hard links under windows, but I'll have to
check on that.

All the patches have been committed to CVS, so they should be in
0.12.0.  I was hoping not to add any switches, but it seems I may have
to distinguish between windows and cygwin (--windows-mode and
--cygwin-mode?).  For 0.13.x it would be nice to have this stuff
detected automatically; I'll look at some of Greg Freemyer's code.
