Okay,
I think I got it. here is the results from my backup log file

Mon Apr 12 10:06:08 2004 Processing changed file .
Mon Apr 12 10:06:08 2004 Copying attributes from () to /samba-saa
Mon Apr 12 10:06:08 2004 Setting time of /samba-saa to 1081443161
Mon Apr 12 10:06:08 2004 Touching mirror marker
/samba-saa/rdiff-backup-data/c$
Mon Apr 12 10:06:08 2004 Touching
/samba-saa/rdiff-backup-data/current_mirror.$
Mon Apr 12 10:06:08 2004 Cleaning up

does this look like I have been successful?

Question about full vs. increments
Does rdiff do every backup as an incremental? Is it neccessary to schedule a
backup using the -b option? or should one just let incrementals happen and
regularly remove the oldest ones?
I guess I'm looking for a backup strategy for rdiff.

Now I need to figure out the cron stuff, any suggestions on good resources,
I'll start by reading the man pages.....

thanks again,
paul
