Basically yes, this is a contest only item.Some contests require a serial number in the exchange and they have to increase by one per qso.
I dont get why its in this dialog, why next to the "Group by Callsign", how are the two related?
This is to export to make qsl labels. You may only want qso #500 to the end. If you don't specify, you are going to export the whole log.
