Well a lot of fun if it works, frustrating if it doesn't ;-)
Talking about the «future» of auctex, there is this very interesting
patch written by Al Haji-Ali, that allow to have the «compiled stuff» in
a different directory of your choice and so keeps your main directory
tidy and clutterfree.
Al's patch hasn't been included so far, and works for me fine, if I
patch it against commit 3fa1baadab
But not against commit a92fe0bf
Because the compilation buffer does not shows up for me.
Sort of frustrating since I love that patch
