Ho,

got the report. I've never seen any problems like this. But will
try to reproduce the issue here. Reason _may_ be that the target
needs some kind of reset for this combination of fuse-bits and
this causes some sync-problems with the 90S8535-firmware.

Could you please send the ouput of avrdude-"W32" with
activated verbose switches (-v -v)?
