I am still trying to track this one, but it basically works this
side and not yours, as I have disabled NLS (or multibyte) and
you have it enabled. The multibyte stuff is a bit more tricky,
as there do not seem to be an easy way without changing interfaces,
except if somebody can spot the 'one liner fix'.
