No I realise that; the issue is how to include examples in the help text
and let them be formatted appropriately for the man page (e.g.
highlighting the fixed text and user supplied text).

To be honest,  this is just too much hastle; I'll go and add
examples to some other packages where I just need to edit man pages.
There is no point in me jumping backwards through 5 hoops to do
something useful when all I really need to do is add them to the .x
files.
