coreutils-5.2.1 and coreutils-5.0

I am using coreutils-5.0 and found that uname -a has unknown in two of the
fields where /bin/uname -a has proper information

/bin/uname -a
Linux zephyr 2.4.21-27.0.2.ELhugemem #1 SMP Wed Jan 12 23:24:48 EST 2005 i686 
i686 i386 GNU/Linux


/tools/wdt/bin/uname -a
Linux zephyr 2.4.21-27.0.2.ELhugemem #1 SMP Wed Jan 12 23:24:48 EST 2005 i686 
unknown unknown GNU/Linux

I tried coreutils-5.2.1  and get the same results.

This in turn had caused problems with /usr/X11R6/bin/gccmakedep which used
the uname -i command to get the arch which is unknown with coreutils and i386
with /bin
