Because the ones in the gawk dist are mostly intended as sample code.
And I don't want to increase their number.
There are already several other extensions that I've written in
gawkextlib (abort, json, mbs, nl_langinfo).
As to wanting gawkextlib on your platforms, lobby the platform
maintainers! They listen to users. Gawkextlib is in Fedora, so
there's a big example right there.
