updatedb installed on NFS mount |

Hi,
not sure if this is a bug or not, but I just installed
findutils-4.1 to an NFS mounted directory. When the updatedb script is
run on more than 3-4 systems at a time, the server where it lives is
pounded - all 8 nfsd processes starting sucking CPU like crazy.
This is not an underpowered system, its a beefy HP L2000 with 2 440Mhz
PA-RISC CPUs running HP-UX 11.00.
The 1st time the problem occurred, I assumed it was because I was
writing the databases to an NFS mounted directory. However, I changed
it to be a local file for each system and it still has the same
behavior.
Is there something going on that I am just missing? Please enlighten
me...
Thanks,
Kevin
ps - please don't tell me to install findutils on every system - we
have 140+ systems!
