This is not the intended use of 'gettextize', but anyway...

Here is a workaround:
gettextize && mv -f po/ChangeLog~ po/ChangeLog

ChangeLogs are recommended by GNU standards.

Then you can remove 'ChangeLog' from DISTFILES in
po/Makefile.in.in.
