One hint is that on that same date "sh" (Serbo-Croatian) was
officially deprecated.  But ISO 639 says there's a "bs" (Bosnian), so
a "bs" there can be.  One of the nice things about having an ISO
registry is that the Free Translation Project generally doesn't need
to worry about the politics behind the code assignments.

Changing the subject slightly, I see that the Free Translation Project
assigned the "bs" task to Mirsad Todorovac, whose email address
<address@hidden> is served by the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb,
Croatia.  I just did a Google search and found an active GNU/Linux
Bosnian localization project that is based in Bosnia; please see
<http://projekti.linux.org.ba/>.  Have they been contacted as a
potential source of assistance to the Free Translation Project's "bs"
task?
