 OK, but I'm going to maintain MIPS/Linux binary packages for the
foreseeable future and they include GNU gettext.  And I have to use newest
autoconf and related tools as there are packages that need them and
keeping a single version of tools is easier.  So chances are, when you
finally decide the time for upgrading autoconf has arrived for gettext I
will be able to supply you with current patches.  Feel free to contact me
then.  Why to duplicate the work?
