Hi Alan,

meanwhile I had a closer look at binutils-2.12.90.0.9 and found that most
subdirs are now DESTDIR-aware, but unfortunately not all of them.

With the attached patch "make DESTDIR=<some_where> install" works fine (for
me). It would be very nice if these changes could be incorporated into
binutils (not only into the development versions on ftp.kernel.org but also
- and more important - into the "official" FSF versions).

NB: Although the main Makefile.in already contains a reference to DESTDIR, I
think the additional change is necessary in order to pass it down to all
subdirs.
