Attached configure and make logs. Both "./configure" and "make" are
executed with no arguments.

My mistake, and quite stupid I must admit. The real problem is that
the variables for gettext tools (MSGFMT, XGETTEXT etc.) in the
Makefile-s have invalid values. Attached snips from bfd/Makefile,
bfd/po/Makefile and (for comparision only) from gettext/po/Makefile.

That's good... However, I have no gettext in my system - neither
0.10.39, nor any other.
