This problem will be dealt with in gettext-0.11.6. For now, just "cvs
commit" the modified PO files (after resolving conflicts of course).

Thanks, but the patch is wrong because "cd po; make all" must not
assume that msgmerge is in the PATH. "cd po; make dist" assumes that,
however.
