Bug#192074: gettext: hardcoded ISO 639 list out of date (fwd)

Hello.

I've received this from the Debian bug system.

Is there a more recent version of gettext which I can distribute in
the Debian "unstable" distribution? (the debian development release which
becomes "stable" when it's stable enough).

The language code list in gettext-0.11.5 is out of date; a more uptodate
version is to be found in the iso-codes package.

Could you either:
        - update the hard-coded list
        - get gettext to generate the list on build-time from iso-codes
        - read the list at run-time from iso-codes (if its present)
