the manpage talks about --line-buffering, section "OPTIONS"
--line-buffering
Use line buffering, it can be a performance penality.
whereas the correct option is --line-buffered, at least in my version of
grep : grep (GNU grep) 2.5.1
I didn't take a look at the "info" page.
