Note that on cygwin, 'configure && make' builds a cygwin application...

while you, by using -mno-cygwin, are building a mingw application.
Therefore, the directions I gave on how to build a cygwin application
don't apply; you may have better luck asking on the mingw list if you want
a mingw build.
