Why are you asking for a volunteer to maintain the native Windows port
in conjunction with the Visual Studio? Gawk builds out of the box
with MinGW, and works okay when built that way. MinGW produces native
Win32 executables (it also produces Win64 executables, but I have no
information whether the current code base compiles with MinGW64).
MinGW is Free Software, it uses native Windows ports of GCC and
Binutils. So what is the motivation for maintaining the MSVC port?
what would it do that the MinGW build does not already support?

If you need a MinGW support person, I can do it, although I cannot
promise any finite response times.
