It looks like things are pretty reasonable and xgawk is usable, but
since I have not done anything with xgawk, you should ask on the xgawk
mailing list for a bettern confirmation.

If you don't need xgawk's special features, then I recommend using
the current released gawk, 3.1.8, or what's in the gawk-stable CVS.
