I guess Joseph used some kind of tcl or python code to do this. He has made a
lot of code and tools to solve things like this. And he also have the
knowledge and talent to do computer wizardry like this.

Of course it's should be possible to do a test session with the no-gui version
as well, but you should turn recording off. Of course there might be an other
memory leak as well.

(If you want to make simple programs for GNU Backgammon and other things you
should start looking at Python. I've just startind to program in Python
myself, and so far I must say I love it!)
