Correction.
I apologize for the premature letter I sent earlier.  I have been trying 
out the Icelandic gnubg translation and having all sorts of coding 
problems.  Now it seems I can write directly into a is.po Latin-1 coded 
file and msgfmt it to produce beutifully translated gnubg.

I do not understand why this is OK now, since when I started the 
translation this produced empty menu items.  I have compiled the newest 
version of gnubg.  Perhaps something changed there?  Anyway I hope all is 
well now.  If anyone for example from the Danish or the German translation 
team can explain to me these coding matters I would be grateful.
