I ve now downloaded and installed the latest build from Nardy's site, build
040329, changelog 1.1539 (the new installation archive uses 1.1538!) and
everything works fine now. NO MORE MS-DOS Window popping up at the
beginning!

I can make a update tonight as well, and see it it solves the problem. What
does the fix do actually?

if hinge.bmp not found do:
   rename ext to png
   open hinge.png

??
