Zero ply rollouts should not be affected in any way!!! if they are, something is wrong. Please post a reproducible case, with a smaller n as possible, full setting, and seed ...

PLEASE READ! If you read this it will save you and me for a lot of trouble! PLEASE READ! Joseph has commited his smaller pruning neural nets to the main part of GNU Backgammon! That's good news. Really good news! If you use Windows as you operating system, and want to try this, you should try it from http://www.gnubg.org/index.php?itemid=28 If you want to try it you *must* first get and install the installation here: http://www.gnubg.org/downloadwin.php Don't try with one of my old packages, because that won't work! You *should* install the prune neural net archive into the same directory. Some files in your install directory will be overwritten. These files are: gnubg.exe, gnubg-no-gui.exe and gnubg.wd. It can be smart to backup these files. You can also read the article I just wrote about this fantastic improvment to GNU Backgammon. http://www.gnubg.org/index.php?itemid=28 Note the buttom line warning! Good Luck! -Øystein PS: Rolf, amarganth, you should get this build, since the python module contains the two new methods: gnubg.cfevaluate() and gnubg.findbestmove()
