They are both there intentionally, however I believe that the direct
sqlite interface is the simplest to get working on all platforms and
should therefore be the primary way to do things. The casual windows
users won't have any uses for the python interfaces. As I wrote, it
requires a small code change (a USE_PYTHON_DB or similar). But lets
hear what Jon says about the matter first.
