Intel core-i7 920 overclocked to 3.55Ghz with Asus P6T motherboard. ?!

Maybe that is a bit agressive, given the official 2.67 GHz? Gnubg is
actually able to keep all cores (and virtual threads) pretty busy and hot
(sic!). Maybe you should retry at the officially supported clock frequency
and see if the problem can still be reproduced ...
