If things were working fine and for no reason it began to crash my guesses
are:

1) A Windows 7 Update screwed things up
2) Something you installed is causing some conflict with Gnubg
3) Your CPU's or RAM have a problem and the crashes occur because of a
hardware fault (Overheating/Bad Memory/Bad cores)
4) 3D is causing a problem
5) Something in your Gnubg settings file has cause Gnubg to act erratically.

I can't help you with the first 3, but if its problem 4 or 5 I could have
you try something:

For #4 - try changing to 2D mode for a while. Does the problem still occur?
If Changing to 2D doesn't work then I would try this

Close GnuBG. Go to your home directory. You should find a folder called
.gnubg and a file inside it called gnubgautorc  . Rename gnubgautorc to
gnubgautorc.orig   . Run GnuBG, and enter in all your evaluation/analysis
and rollout settings again. Use Gnubg for a while, does the problem go away?

I do recommend you consider upgrading GnuBG to the September 07 release:
http://www.gnubg.org/media/windows/gnubg-MAIN-20090907-setup.exe   . This
version fixes a number of serious cache bugs especially if you use plies
higher than 3. I'm not sure if your problems would go away, but I recommend
the upgrade.
