Hi,
Thanks Philippe! We value the feedback!
The issue with being able to open multiple windows did concern us. We tried to resolve this by making it modal but had some issues there.
In fact we noticed that the "Hint" window isn't modal, and it can have strange behaviour (or seg fault) if you open "hint", then change things in the main window (like go back to an earlier move and play from there), and then interact with the old hint window.
I tried to make "Hint" modal but struggled with it. If there's anyone who's very good with gtk and wants to help, I can try to reproduce/explain the issues I was having. Otherwise maybe we'll just leave it, since it isn't a terribly disruptive bug.
Best, Aaron

Well done. This gives access to a lot of useful information, yet in a very natural and intuitive way. Regarding the layouts, I don't like vertical 1 because the setiings are much less readable than in vertical 2. The latter is more consistent with the other gnubg widgets but on my small laptop with a 768 pixels only screen height the scoremap windows are too high. The horizontal layout is fine but vertical 2 with a smaller default window would be ideal. I agree with Ian that the away scoring is more natural for this kind on analysis. I'd prefer it to be the default. I was a bit surprised to be able to open multiple scoremap windows. This is not that useful by itself since there is no clear indication that relates each window to the corresponding move. On the other hand, it could be handy to not have to close such a window before opening another one. |
