thank you for the patch, I committed it on the cvs repository.

Cool.

Personally I don't think there is need of a HACKING file, on the
repository we just keep modified files that should replace the
original firefox source files, anyway, if this file will be made
available we can add it to the repository without problems.

Ok.

At the moment I am trying to update IceCat to Mozilla Firefox
2.0.0.12 but I am having some troubles to compile it using
gcc-4.3. If you would like to contribute you can take a look
at our privacy features, it will be nice to have them as a
module and keep in the source code only the observer part.
Moreover, these features can be extended to cover more cases.

Where would those features be? Once i find them, how about i
write some texinfo docs for them (so that other programmers will
not need to ask that question)? Moreover, i'd be willing to write
icecat.texi -- this is a GNU project, it should have info docs.

The ChangeLog file looks well under Emacs and change-log-mode.
I am using GNU Emacs 22.0.90.1, which version are you using?

I'm using GNU Emacs from the cvs repo (23.0.60.5). I see:

2008-02-09 11:26 Giuseppe Scrivano <address@hidden>
^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
orange blue yellow

The colors are not important, but the boundaries between them are.
ChangeLog headers normally (for Emacs itself, for example) look like:

2008-02-09 Giuseppe Scrivano <address@hidden>
^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
orange blue yellow

It seems the difference is the inclusion of HH:MM, and the spacing
between the header elements.

Anyway, i have just subscribed to the mailing list and look
forward to familiarizing myself w/ IceCat.
