Rerun ./configure, so that XLIBS and XT_LIBS get AC_SUBST'ed and
defined in config/autotools.mk (or was it autoconf.mk?  I don't have
access to the source right now).  If they are not defined, please post
the relevant output from your config.log.

There is no way to build this package if these variables expand to the
empty string; this is the culprit.
