Yes, I've gone this way, first creating an item in the main menu, then I've 
managed to get a shortcut to the bottom panel (near the taskbar) and finally 
replaced the brown fox with the blue cat :) But before that, I've done (on 
advise from a forum):

chmod +a run-icecat.sh
./run-icecat.sh

This worked.
