First of all, don't use the command "install", unless you are familiar
with GRUB internals, as described in the manual. Obviously, you don't
know how the command works, since you didn't specify the `p' option,
so use the command "setup" instead.

I guess the problem may be due to the boot drive passed by your
BIOS. If my guess is correct, you can get GRUB work well with
"setup". Send a report to this list, if GRUB still doesn't work even
with "setup".
