Automatically calling cls() prevents me from seeing output. Error
messages and other.

cls() decides about the destiny of messages which are not under GRUB's
control!

I definitvely don't talk about debug output! Debug messages should
default to "off".

It's okay if GRUB suppresses it's own messages. It's also okay when
you can call a cls-like command in GRUB (menu.lst). (You could do so
by printing some newlines.)

If somebody wants a clear screen, there are thousend possibilties to
do so after /sbin/init gets called...

Who on this list really suppresses e.g. kernel output??

auto-cls() as (compile time) default is bad!
