LVM2 support?

Hello list,

can someone give me a pointer how to make GRUB to understand LVM2? I
found <http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42433> but it didn't work
for me. Applied the patch on top of Debian based GRUB and fixed some
rejects, but the new GRUB didn't recognise the volumes (yes i installed
the new version and did a grub-install).

Is GRUB2 supporting LVM2 and ext2/3?
