Hello!
Let's see if I understand you correctly. You have both Kubuntu, itself a KDE
enabled release of Ubuntu which is based on Debian unstable, on your system,
and then a copy of Vista.

Trying to boot this setup gives you that error message. 

Which was installed first? Microsoft is peculiar they want to be the only
operating system on your system. Ideally to fix this you would need to boot
using a rescue medium to correct the issues, essentially GRUB can't find
itself. The rescue medium will do that. On that subject, you'll need to wait
for someone else to chime in.

However do you have access to the menu file that GRUB reads? We would also
need that to supply good information to assist you.
