Other, more recent examples:
. Stravinsky, Rite of Spring, rehearsal number 3 (page 1), bass
clarinet in B flat (Boosey & Hawkes): Normally notated in treble
clef, sounding a ninth lower, but here notated in bass clef,
sounding a second lower.
And please don't tell me that this notation is outdated! This is
simply not true, as any bass clarinet player can assure you.
Of course, the horns are notated in `old style' (cf page 10).
. The same for the horn voices in the full score of Carl Orff's
Carmina burana (Schott). This is 1937.
. Bela Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra (Boosey & Hawkes), page 127.
This is 1946.
