You'll have to excuse me, I'm a techie, helping a muso out. Erik previously 
described the situation better than me - It's not so much 'unmetered music', 
rather irregularly metered music. It would have been nice if something 
better was available than calling 'measureLength' for each bar.

Yep, that's what I'm currently using as a workaround. Thanks for the tip.
