I actually like the current wording, since it is only suggesting to
use C99 features
Ah, I see the text says "take advantage of C99" if it is available. Ok,
I guess. Although I fail to see how it could be ever be clearer or more
portable to have both C99 and non-C99 branches in the sources, which is
the implication. Faster, maybe, I guess.
But since that text was basically already there and is actually being
weakened, I can't see a real problem with it.
