have a single section telling people how to create reproducible tarballs, especially since the topic is so tricky. I installed the attached patch to try to do that. Further improvements welcome. It should be easier to create a reproducible tarball. Perhaps we should add a "--reproducible" option? (Unfortunately it would need suboptions, as not everyone agrees what "reproducible" means. Plus, some things are out of tar's control, as can be seen in the attached....) |
